Successful EN 9100 certification
What is EN 9100?
The standard EN 9100 forms the framework for comprehensive quality management systems for organisations in the aerospace industry and the defence sector on the basis of the general quality management standard per EN ISO 9001. These are technical equivalents to the standards SAE AS 9100/9110/9120 (America) and JISQ 9100 (Japan, Asia). The 1999 series of standards was compiled and installed by the Society of Automotive Engineers (USA) and the European Association of Aerospace Industries.
The difference from the DIN EN ISO 9001 series of standards lies primarily in the following areas: Interface with suppliers and customers, requirements regarding long-term product preservation, sustainability of the product documentation and the treatment of so-called “key features”
Manufacturers assessed in accordance with EN 9100 are logged in the OASIS database (Online Aerospace Supplier Information System).
